Sworn as a Governor of the Capital – Al-Olabi as Chairman of Damascus Cham Holding
In front of President Mr. Bashar Al-Assad, Eng. Adel al-Olabi was sworn as governor of Damascus. President Al-Assad received the governor, gave him his guidance, and wished him success in his duties as governor of the capital. By taking up his duties as Damascus Governorate, and in accordance with Article 2 of Legislative Decree 19 of 2015, Olabi became Chairman of Damascus Cham Holding Company, the investment entity of the Damascus Governorate and the new investment ideology, which has proven so far its ability to emulate new thinking in the management of urban planning in a poised manner that guarantees rights and opens the gates to a balanced urban and economic renaissance. It is noteworthy that Al-Olabi is a member and deputy chairman of Damascus Cham Holding since 2016. He is known of having a reformative and developmental vision. Being acquainted and following up the details of the capital and its issues starting from his position as the president of the provincial council of Damascus, this bodes much development and ease for the capital. This comes in line with the government's adoption of a developmental vision for various cities and areas by organizing them according to an evolutionary vision with social and economic dimensions. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Adel Olabi holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.A. in Rehabilitation from Institute of Economic and Social Planning. Before assuming his duties as Governor of Damascus, Olabi was Chairman of the Damascus Provincial Council. In his record a group of important administrative tasks, most notably: Deputy Governor of Damascus - Associate, director of printing press of Al-Baath newspaper, member of the Central Conference of the Engineers Association and head of the operation department of Al-Dar. With Olabi taking over the chairmanship of Damascus Holding Company, the new investment and organizational thinking of the governorate will be verging on broad horizons consistent with the aspirations for uplifting of the urban, organizational, investment and service reality of Damascus. President Bashar Al-Assad issued on the 26th of the current month the Decree No. 363 to end the appointment of Bishr al-Sabban as governor of Damascus, and appoint Adel Al-Olabi as governor of Damascus.
